Our elephant programme in northern Thailand is built on a simple principle: the animals come first. That means no riding, no performances and no forced interaction — just careful, hands-off observation of semi-wild elephants returning to a more natural life.
Working alongside the Karen communities who have cared for elephants for generations, interns record behaviour and welfare data that supports the herd's long-term wellbeing. It is conservation done the right way, and it is a privilege to be part of.
